“The Florida Family Association, a Tampa Bay group, has led a campaign urging companies to pull ads on “All-American Muslim.” The FFA contends that 65 of 67 companies it has targeted have pulled their ads, including

As one of my friends says: “Welcome to the land of the free and the home of the new slave.” I guess I will know where and what I won’t be buying from…

FYI: I don’t watch the show. I have my own issues with it.
Isn’t Green Mountain Coffee a fair trade organization? Yeah…
“We care about equality…except for, ya know…equality that doesn’t make us money. Fuck that equality! Yeah!”

boycott and shame the racist, xenophobe christian fascists

wow… what a blatant exercise of privilege

everyone wonders why television is so shitty and full of terrible represenations of everyone? because when things actually get greenlit that focus on challenging hegemonic norms - the hegemony gets mad and makes sure to pull the plug in any way possible

and people fucking comply! - must be great to have money, connections and influence y’all!

Ahhh, Guise! You forgot to add the church’s explanation for why they’re against the program in the first place!  I’ll go ahead and add that bit. It’s my favorite bit:

“The Learning Channel’s new show All-American Muslim is propaganda clearly designed to counter legitimate and present-day concerns about many Muslims who are advancing Islamic fundamentalism and Sharia law.  The show profiles only Muslims that appear to be ordinary folks while excluding many Islamic believers whose agenda poses a clear and present danger to liberties and traditional values that the majority of Americans cherish.”  (From Florida Family’s website)

    “…appear to be ordinary…”

My jaw dropped when heard this story.  I’m not surprised that there are groups out there against the show. I expected it.  I am surprised, however, that these companies are bending over for a small church a majority of us have never heard of before today.

go back to your Aljizzera motherfuckers these colors don’t run

    Love,

-Small precentage of crazy Americans <3

this kind of shit makes me so angry and breaks my heart at the same time
